Welsh Congregational Church is on the left and St. James's on the right. In the distance are the dome of University College and St. Pancras church tower. A number of figures can be seen on the street including a policeman, a postman and sandwich-board men. On the road there are hansom cabs, a haycart, horse-drawn buses and trams. This painting captures the atmosphere of late 19th-century London.
