RMS Rangitiki in port. The Rangitiki, 16,985 grt , is seen berthed at Number 29 Shed, Royal Albert Dock, c.1955. The Rangitiki was delivered to the New Zealand Shipping Company on 31 January 1929, and made her maiden voyage to New Zealand on 15 February. The route from Southampton to Wellington, via Curacao and the Panama Canal, made the Rangitiki the first motor ship on a direct route between England and New Zealand. She was sold off and broken up for scrap in 1962, after sailing 2 million miles.
