Farringdon Street, looking south towards Holborn Viaduct, c.1890. During the last quarter of the 19th century, a number of commercial photographers took topographical views of London which they sold through printsellers and bookshops. One of the best of these photographers was George Washington Wilson who, together with his son Charles, produced a number of high-quality images of London from the 1870s–1890s.
